Notes from General Preisthood Meeting

Taken with my phone so sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Elder Dallin H. Oaks - Healing Blessings

Pray always. Do all that you can and then ask the Lord for help and put your faith in Him.. God works miracles according to your faith. Words spoken In a healing blessing are not essential to it's healing power but faith is essential.

Elder Ronald A. Rasband - Missionary Work
The Lord needs every worthy young man to prepare and be ready to serve a mission. Your mission is divinely designed for you.

Elder David L. Beck - Duty to God
You "young men" inspire those around you. Your greatest priesthood duty is to strengthen your family. When the Lord gives you the priesthood he puts his trust in you. The Lord trusted Joseph Smith just like he trusts you. New duty to god program, 1- learn about a gospel principle. 2 - participate in an activity around the new principle you learned. 3 - share what you have learned. DTG will guide you and help you discover why the priesthood is so important.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf - Patience
The ability to wait and be patient can help you be more successful in life. Patience is a virtue. Without patience we cannot please God, we cannot be perfect. Patience offers hope for peace. Steady and consistent work will help you to learn. Patience requires actively working towards worthwhile goals. Patience is enduring well. As priesthood holders we must serve in a manner consistent with His "Gods" example. Be patient with those you serve. Gods promises are not always swift, but they are always certain. "Patience is the process of perfection."

President Henry B. Eyring - Diligence in the Lords service
Those who are diligent will know the mind of God. Learn the will of God, make a plan to act on it, act and then share what you have learned.

President Thomas S. Monson - For the Strength of Youth
We have been entrusted to bear the priesthood of God. It is the thread that bonds us all together. For the Strength of Youth manual will bring the guidance of the Father and His Son to us. If your ever in a place where you should not be, get out! Pick friends who share common values. Use language to build and uplift those around you. Avoid pornography at all cost! Don't be afraid to walk out of a movie. You cannot afford to fill our minds with unholy music. Unholy music can dull your sensitivity to the spirit. If we want to control our actions we must control our thoughts. When we have faith, Heavenly Father hears our prayers and answers them in his own way.

These are the messages I got from the talks. You may have gotten something different from it. I hope this helps you remember what the Lord wanted to tell us and help us all apply what we have learned in our own lives.

Derek Gifford.
